Stigma and Expectancy Effects

My research team also examines issues relating to stigma and expectancy effects and how they influence applied outcomes outside of police interrogations and wrongful convictions. Some of this research examines applied issues such as how stigma associated with certain religious groups and races can influence voting behavior. My research team has also examined the role of self-fulfilling prophecies and their ability to perpetuate a variety of stereotypes and prejudices leading to the stigmatization of various groups.
